Oprah Gail Winfrey is an American media proprietor, producer, talk show host, actress, and philanthropist. She is best known for her talk show The Oprah Winfrey Show, which was the highest-rated television program from 1986 to 2011. She is currently North America’s first and only multi-billionaire black person. In 2013, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom by then-President Barack Obama.

Her mother was a housemaid and her father was in Armed Forces and also worked as a coal miner, barber and city councilman. She was from a working-class family. Her siblings are Patricia Lee Lloyd (Half-Sister), Patricia Lofton (Half-Sister), and Jeffrey Lee (Half Brother).
